Externovate™ is created and owned by Cognivanta Labs and powered by CINTENT™, Cognivanta Labs' Cognitive AI Platform. In this policy, "we", "us" and "Externovate" refer to the operator of the platform.
2. Data we collect
- Account data: name, email, password hash, role.
- Student profile data: academic records, resume, certificates, projects, blogs, whitepapers, media uploads, skills, preferences.
- Usage data: pages visited, actions taken, applications submitted.

- Communications: messages you send us or through the platform.
3. How we use your data
- Operate your account, applications and dashboards.
- Power CINTENT™ recommendations, matching and profile insights.
- Enable interactions with universities, enterprises, mentors and researchers.
- Improve platform quality, safety and reliability.
- Comply with legal, tax and regulatory obligations.
4. AI processing (CINTENT™)
CINTENT™ analyses your profile to generate scores, matches and recommendations. Automated recommendations are advisory — final application, shortlisting and hiring decisions always involve humans. You can turn off personalised recommendations from your profile settings.
5. Sharing your data
Your profile is private by default. We share data only:
- With universities, enterprises and mentors when you apply or opt-in.
- With trusted infrastructure providers under strict contracts.
- When required by law or to protect the platform and its users.
We do not sell personal data.
6. Consent
By creating an account you consent to the processing described here. You can withdraw consent for optional processing at any time from your settings.
7. Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active, plus a limited period required for legal, audit and dispute-resolution purposes. Verified credentials may be retained longer to maintain their integrity.
8. Deletion and your rights
You can request account deletion, data export or correction at any time. Depending on your jurisdiction, you also have rights under:
- GDPR (EU) and UK GDPR — access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection.
- CCPA / CPRA (California) — know, delete, correct, opt-out of sale/sharing, non-discrimination.
- India DPDP — access, correction, erasure, grievance redressal.
9. Security
We use encryption in transit, role-based access, audit logging and periodic reviews. No system is perfectly secure, and we take our responsibility to protect your data seriously.
10. International transfers
Externovate operates globally. Where data is transferred across borders, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) required by applicable law.
11. Children
Externovate is intended for users aged 16 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from children below the minimum age in their jurisdiction.
